The GTL Suite of Software Development Tools are designed to facilitate the quick deployment of applications based on portable handheld data collection devices. These devices include products from the leading manufacturers of bar code data collection terminals such as Symbol Technologies, Intermec, LXE, PSC, and HHP. The Suite of GTL Software Development Tools is comprised of three components. They are listed below:

GTL Editor- The GTL Editor forms the basis for the development platform. This component is used to create applications that run on the handheld device. The GTL Editor is offered in two configurations, one for developing wireless applications and the second for developing batch applications.

GTL Server- The GTL Server Software component functions as the primary interface between the handheld device and the end database. The GTL Server must be running at all times in order for application developed under the editor to function. The GTL Server component is licensed based on the number of concurrent users that are connected. It is available in two configurations, one for running wireless applications and the second for running batch applications.

GTL Handheld- The GTL Handheld component is the module that gets loaded onto the handheld and translates all the commands created in the GTL Editor component. The GTL Handheld component is specific to the type of portable device used in the application. GTL provides a Handheld component for most of the popular models of handheld devices offered by the leading manufacturers of bar code data collection devices.
